View Menu in MS Word

The View Menu is the third one from the left. It also consists of some very useful commands that we use to edit and modify our text documents.

  • Normal - It is the default option in the View menu. It is use for typing, editing, and formatting text.
  • Page Layout -It is an editing view that displays your document as it will look when printed. view takes more system memory and scrolling may be slow.
  • Toolbars - Display or hide toolbars. The right pointing arrow indicates a list of toolbars. To add one slide down to the name of the toolbar and click to select.
  • Ruler- Display or hide horizontal and vertical rulers at the top and left side of the document.
  • Header and Footer - It is used to Create, View, and edit page headers and footers. A Header is anything that appears at the very top of the page. A Footer is anything that appears at the bottom of the page.  When you select the header and footer option, the main page is made inactive until you close the header and footer. After typing your header, you should scroll down to the footer.
